The Ryder Cup has Begun!
Matches for this morning are
MATCH 1
Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson v Lee Westwood and Martin Kaymer
MATCH 2
Stewart Cink and Matt Kuchar v Rory McIlroy and Graeme McDowell
MATCH 3
Steve Stricker and Tiger Woods v Ian Poulter and Ross Fisher
MATCH 4
Bubba Watson and Jeff Overton v Luke Donald and Padraig Harrington
Now not only can you watch live coverage of these four matches, but you can now watch it in 3D. Today Sky launched its 3D service, and a great chunk of the weekend’s 3D broadcast will be live Ryder Cup coverage.
However, there is the rain holding up the matches. Not only has the Ryder Cup been temporarily put on hold due to a water-logged green, it’s affecting the fans as well. As the first shots in the biennial golfing contest between Europe and the US were hit, the fanzone in John Frost Square in the centre of the host city was not exactly teeming with people as planned. In fact, only one man braved the rain to watch the tee-off, and he left before one hole was completed. Where have all the golf fans gone?
For all you Europe fans, there is the good news that home team was off to a good start, leading three of the four best-ball matches when play was suspended for the first time since the 1997 Ryder Cup in Spain.
And for you American fans, here’s a happy thought. Knetgolf.com currently has all golf balls 25% off using promo fall25. Get all your favourite premium, brand name balls at Knetgolf.com. As well, there is a current face book draw going on where you can win 20 dozen of your favourite golf ball! We can only hope that torrential downpour ends soon, and we can all get back to playing, and watching, golf.
Tee-Off!
