ARE THESE BALLS NEW IN SLEEVES?

Knetgolf specializes in the premium recycled golf ball business.  We have been online for over 12 years. We are well known in the golf ball industry for our quality as we have a very strict grading system. All of the balls come in mesh bags of 1 dozen unless otherwise noted.

WHAT IS X OUT GOLF BALLS?

An X-Out golf ball is the result of a mistake in the manufacturing process. X-Outs are name-brand golf balls where the brand has been stamped out, usually with a row of X's. It becomes an X Out balls because of imperfections in the ball. Those imperfections are often cosmetic in nature, and usually so small as not to be noticeable. The balls usually play the same as their counterparts, or at least close enough that most recreational players could never tell the difference. Let's use Titleist for the sake of illustration. If during the manufacturing process some tiny little error occurs and the resulting balls are not up to Titleist standards, the company will not package those balls and try to pass them off as Titleist golf balls. But Titleist doesn't want to toss them out with the garbage either. That would be a complete loss of money.   Instead, Titleist stamps a row of X's across the "Titleist" name on the ball, packages the balls -- in generic packaging.  They are onsold a reasonable prices. Titleist still makes money, and many golfers get practice balls - or play balls - on the cheap.

WHAT DO THE NUMBERS ON A GOLF BALL MEAN?

All golf balls have numbers them. How many numbers and which numbers vary from brand to brand, but they all have at least one number. That one number is most likely to be a 1, 2, 3 or 4 (although it can also be anything from a zero to a 9). What do these numbers mean? The numbers mean nothing, really. These single-digit numbers are simply there for identification purposes. If the members of a foursome are all playing a Titleist NXT ball, for example, one might play a ball with the number "1," another a "2," the third a "3," and the fourth a "4." This will allow the members to keep track of which ball belongs to each player. These numbers usually appear just below the branding of the ball's name. All the balls from the same sleeve will have the same ID number. A golf ball might also have a three-digit number on it, usually something in the 300s or 400s.   If you notice such a number on a ball, this number is letting you know how many dimples are on the ball.

WHAT IS COMPRESSION AND HOW DOES IT AFFECT PLAYABILITY?

Another number that might appear on golf balls is the ball's compression rating. In the late 90's, solid core balls drove the wound ball almost completely out of the market. Prior to that, compression rating was a big deal to golfers. A compression rating of 70 or 80 for a wound ball was regarded as an indicator that ball was a "soft ball." A compression rating of 110 meant you had to swing very hard to make that ball work right (the he-man ball). We know now that compression relates much more to feel than to distance. Solid, soft-core balls have a huge segment of the golf ball market now. The compressions today can be way down in the 30s or 40s and range up to 100 or so. When low-compression balls first started appearing on the market, manufacturers felt there was still a stigma attached to low compression - i.e., that a low-compression ball would be viewed as a "ladies ball." THe result was that numbers representing compression were dropped from most golf balls. You'll still find them on some brands, but they are likely only two digits.
To recap: A single-digit number is there for player identification; a double-digit number most likely represents compression; a triple-digit number most likely represents the number of dimples.

ARE THESE BALLS WATERLOGGED?

Knetgolf’s Grade A and Mint balls are not waterlogged as most are recovered from over 400 courses in the Arizona, Nevada and California Desert. Our Grade B balls are also in good condition but may be slightly discolored compared to the Grade A’s and the Mints.

WHY SHOULD I PURCHASE RECYCLED BALLS AND WILL THEY AFFECT THE PERFORMANCE OF MY GAME?

Knetgolf understands that some customers who have never purchased recycled golf balls are sometimes hesitant to do so at first. Knetgolf’s recycled golf balls play like new -- the only difference is the packaging and the amount you will save. We guarantee it.

DO YOU REPAINT THE GOLF BALLS?

Our Mint, Grade A, Grade B and Shag or GRADE C balls are not repainted nor touched up. After the washing process they are graded by quality like eggs.  They are inspected as a jeweler would, brand sorted, type sorted, compression sorted, bagged, picked, packed and shipped. Compression decreases as a ball ages -- although this is very little. The fact that our mint balls are not discolored illustrates that they have not been sitting in water but rather are collected from the Arizona dessert. And this is why we classify our mints as one hole wonders. It has nothing to do with OEM. The main difference between you buying new and recycled is the fancy packaging. You may also be paying for the pros who have been marketing the product as well. We both know where the packaging ends up. The other major difference is the savings of 40-60% from a brand new product. Knetgolf encourages you to compare new balls with our Mint quality. Knetgolf looks forward to hearing from you and to serving you in the future. Remember you have nothing to lose -- but, your wallet has everything to gain.
